Chickens
There are many terms for raising chickens. Our chickens are pasture raised meaning they live in mobile coops and are moved around the property.
Using large electric fences we keep them as safe as possible while the roam in the day and we lock them up at night to keep the many wild predators we have seen.
We move their houses and their yard to new pasture every week or ten days.
Our eggs come in light brown, brown, dark brown, white and shades of green. Currently our flock number is around 300 chickens. We periodically hatch new chicks from our flocks and hope to this spring (2017).
We sell our eggs directly to consumers, at the farmers market, and to some local grocery stores.
